heck yeah, first book review, thanks to the good folks at book sneeze.
beautiful things happen when a woman trusts god. that’s an awesome promise. and the title of sheila walsh’s book. :) i’m guessing miss sheila is a very nice lady. i’m guessing she’s a good encourager. i’m also guessing that at the conferences she does, i am not the target demographic. i kinda figured this when i picked the book up, though, so i was prepared for it. keeping in mind that i am not a contemporary christian music listener who is a wife and mother in the middle of her years, i thought it was a pretty good book. she has many good things to say, and has a sweet way of tying them into different biblical characters. was there deep revelation that absolutely blew me away? no, more like gentle reminders of truths i already knew to be true. but there’s nothing wrong with that. i will give her credit for being very open and honest. i think her vulnerability gave this book extra credibility. she made me think and wove in lots of biblical references, two things i value. all in all i was not brought to my knees, but i was encouraged. job well done, sheila walsh.
