remembered today that i used to have another blog. went there while linking to a bee eff eff’s super secret blog. follower number dos. jealous much?
ps - 4 thousand coolness points to whoever can tell me who has a boat with the very same name as my last sentence up there. eh?
dirtied two mixing bowls today. one to eat cereal out of. and one to catch the water that was dripping from my ceiling.
rough paraphrase from church today:
God doesn’t so much care about the ministry you’re gifted for. He cares about whether or not you obey when a need arises.
two quotes from pastor josh that hit me so much i had to dig out my little notebook in my purse. dunno if they’ll trip your trigger or not, but really this blog is about me anyways, so i don’t really care. (look how much the south has hardened me…adios, minnesota nice)
you can be proud of the bride of Christ when she humbles herself to serve and stops talking about herself.
we fear God because we know we are capable of destroying ourselves on our own.
i’ve been having lots of deep thoughts as of late concerning the sort of stuff these quotes elude to. maybe someday i’ll clue you in. or maybe not. whatevs.
i dig liturgy. it worked for the early christians, who i think had some things more dead-on than we do now. so if it was important to them, it’s important to modern christians. i hope i never get too… umm…modern? progressive? you know the word i’m looking for. anyways, i hope i never get so far that direction that i forget the firm foundation built by the early christian church.
I believe in God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth. And in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, and born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried. He descended into hell.On the third day He rose again from the dead.He ascended into heavenand sits at the right hand of the Father. From thence He will come to judge the living and the dead.I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Christian Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
